High School Students…
Are you concerned about teen dating violence? Looking for a way to make a difference in your community, and contribute your creative ideas without a huge time commitment?
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM). DVCC is seeking applicants who are interested in raising awareness about teen dating violence to join our Teen Task Force.
To apply, complete a quick google form. A DVCC staff member will follow up with a 15-minute phone interview.
Task force members will be asked to create and implement two TDVAM events or initiatives in February. Task force members are asked to commit to a minimum of 10 hours of service with more hours available (a great way to build your college resume).
Meetings will be held Tuesday evenings (tentative dates are Jan 4, 18 and Feb 1, 15 and March 1). January 4 & March 1 meetings are in person* at DVCC’s Stamford office, the rest are virtual.
TDVAM program ideas will be provided, and new ideas are also encouraged so bring your creativity!
Some possible TDVAM events and initiatives…
- Launch a social media contest
- Create a book display for the month at your school library
- Organize a group fitness class or event
- Host a movie night with friends
- Distribute information at a tabling event at your school
