DVCC is committed to breaking down barriers that cause racial inequities. As an agency, we seek every opportunity to create a more equitable environment for our clients and staff. When many of our clients flee abuse they arrive with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. Having the personal care products they need, and are used to using, can help restore a sense of normalcy and dignity. This is especially the case with members of the Black community who rely on culturally–specific personal care products in order to maintain healthy hair and skin.
In our safe houses, and for our newly relocated community clients, normalcy can help heal from trauma and restoring dignity can help rebuild self-confidence. To that end, we are asking for your help in donating these culturally–specific toiletries for our clients. If you would like to purchase any of these items online, visit our lists on Amazon, Walmart, and Target.
