Norwalk, CT – On October 4, as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), DVCC will host its 8th Annual fall fundraising event – Harvest Fest. The fundraiser is an opportunity for celebration and impact to support survivors and build community awareness to prevent and eliminate domestic violence. Click here to purchase tickets. Funds raised will directly support DVCC’s lifesaving, transformative services and critical prevention education programs. Held at the scenic Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk, the evening will feature cocktails on the terrace, a fall harvest dinner menu, and dancing.
“This event is not only a critical fundraiser for DVCC’s services but also an important opportunity to raise awareness in our community about the issue of domestic violence,” said Suzanne Adam, Chief Executive Officer of DVCC. “Domestic violence does not discriminate, and everyone knows someone affected by it. The beginning of DVAM is a crucial time to shed light on this issue and come together to support survivors.”
Proceeds from Harvest Fest support DVCC’s comprehensive services, which include 24-hour crisis intervention, emergency safe housing, adult and child counseling and support groups, legal advocacy, and housing and financial sustainability services. Last year, DVCC served 3,619 victims of domestic violence and provided prevention education to 10,783 individuals in the community. All services for victims are free, confidential, multilingual, and multicultural.
DVCC’s mission is to prevent and eliminate domestic violence by educating communities and supporting individuals in building safer lives. As the sole state-certified provider of domestic violence services in Stamford, Norwalk, Darien, New Canaan, Weston, Westport, and Wilton, DVCC is dedicated to creating a future where every person feels safe and respected in their relationships.
