Stamford, CT – October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Domestic Violence Crisis Center will host its annual fall fundraising event, Harvest Fest, on October 21 at the Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk. The event’s theme, “Dancing in the Moonlight” sets the tone for a festive evening to support DVCC’s programs and services. Tickets can be purchased here.
“Domestic violence is a pervasive problem that does not discriminate. Everyone knows someone who has been touched by it,” said DVCC’s Executive Director, Suzanne Adam. “We are looking forward to a great event. Community support is critical to continue providing DVCC’s lifesaving services for survivors.”
The evening will include cocktails outside on the terrace, followed by dinner and dancing with Fairfield’s favorite cover band, Fake ID. The silent auction will go live on October 15. Anyone, regardless of whether they can attend in person, is free to bid on items simply register here.
Since 1980, the Domestic Violence Crisis Center (DVCC) has provided counseling and advocacy services for victims of domestic violence and their children. DVCC is the only state-certified agency recognized by the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV), serving the communities of Norwalk, Stamford, New Canaan, Darien, Westport, Weston, and Wilton.
DVCC’s role is to help those experiencing any level of domestic violence and assist them in building a safer environment for the well-being of themselves and their families. Our services include housing and financial advocacy, legal advocacy; trauma-informed individual and group counseling; and emergency safe housing. All victim services are free and confidential, and all services offered are multicultural/multilingual.
