Task Forces

Recognizing that raising awareness within a community is best achieved at a grass roots level by engaging members of that community, the DVCC helped to form domestic violence task forces within the five towns it serves. Since 2005, those task forces have been active in promoting awareness campaigns and distributing information about intimate partner violence.

While many of their activities focus on October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, they meet throughout the year, offering a variety of presentations and forums on issues surrounding domestic violence and teen dating violence. Teen PeaceWorks groups in area high schools work closely with the task forces to create and present awareness raising activities.

Task forces include:

  • The Weston Domestic Violence Task Force
  • The Wilton Domestic Violence Task Force
  • The Darien Domestic Abuse Partnership
  • The New Canaan Domestic Violence Partnership
  • The Westport Domestic Violence Task Force
