Make-Over for Norwalk SafeHouse

The Norwalk SafeHouse is looking a lot spiffier, thanks to the generosity of HomeFront, Inc., a community-based volunteer home repair program, and to the efforts of employees from FactSet Research Systems, a Norwalk-based business. About 50 energetic FactSet employees descended on the SafeHouse at 7 a.m. on a recent Saturday morning. By that afternoon, the home had a new exterior paint job, a newly repaired and painted fence and new landscaping. The make-over was part of the 24th annual HomeFront day, designed to provide quality of life repairs to homes of those in need. The program combines skilled labor, quality materials and enthusiastic volunteers from area businesses, civic groups and faith-based organizations.

"Thank you, HomeFront for your generosity and FactSet staff for giving up your Saturday for the DVCC," said Cyndy Goldberg, DVCC's Director of SafeHouses and Services.  "You have no idea the difference this makes to those of us, residents and staff, who go in and out of this house everyday and to the kids and moms who play in the yard."
