In accordance with DVCC's partnership with Stamford Hospital, formal MAP trainings for hospital staff in recognizing and assisting patients who are victims of intimate partner violence will begin with nursing staff in April. Meanwhile, DVCC Medical Advocates have been providing trainings to various groups at Stamford Hospital upon request.

Susan Delaney, Director of the Medical Advocacy Project, noted that the hospital has plans to place numerous signs about domestic violence throughout the facility and said that DVCC information cards will be in all of the hospital's restrooms.

During a recent staff meeting, DVCC Executive Director Rachelle Kucera Mehra commended the hospital for its commitment to the partnership.

"When you have systems investing this way to assist victims of intimate partner violence, as Stamford Hospital has done, it is very impressive," she said.
