PeaceWorks educators and DVCC staff members brought PeaceWorks to hundredsof community residents who attended SoNo Day Out on a beautiful Saturday in Norwalk's Ryan Park. Sponsored by the Norwalk Police Department Community Services Division, the August 9th event offered a wide variety of activities designed to be both fun and informational. Youngsters visiting the PeaceWorks table engaged in arts and crafts, received PeaceWorks bracelets and talked about respect and kindness, while their parents learned about the PeaceWorks programs offered at schools and afterschool programs throughout the community.
"We had at least 200 visitors to our table over the course of the day," said PeaceWorks educator Maura Recabo. "It was a gorgeous day and a truly wonderful event that allowed us to meet and talk with a large number of people. It's great that the Norwalk Police Department holds this event, and we very much appreciate being able to participate."
