PeaceWorks Programs

Despite the gloom and doom stories of the economic crisis, there are always bright spots to be found, one of which is certainly the PeaceWorks Project, the newly-focused and expanded education program of the Domestic Violence Crisis Center. It is an inspiring example of how positive thinking, creative minds and hard work can result in an exciting new program designed to reach more students in more schools and afterschool programs than ever before. PeaceWorks educators spent countless hours over the summer creating a new curriculum, designing a curriculum book and finding new teaching tools that have captured the attention of administrators, teachers and students alike.

To date, PeaceWorks has seen 66% more students than this time last year, is providing programs in several new schools and currently runs afterschool programs, PeaceWork SHOPS, in six schools and community organizations.
