From its inception, MAP has provided a 24/7 in-person response service to victims of domestic violence in medical settings and police stations. In order to better meet the demands of a round-the-clock service, DVCC is training five more volunteers who will soon join the volunteers and staff members currently on the MAP Response Team. Having already completed the 30-hour certification training, these volunteers (two of whom are registered nurses) are undergoing an additional 10 hours of training. Finally, they will shadow seasoned members of the team before responding on their own.
