Donna Clemmens, a clinical professor at the University of Connecticut School of Nursing, and students in her class at UCONN recently provided SafeHouse residents and other DVCC clients with health care screenings and informational presentations on wellness. Clemmens works closely with the DVCC Medical Advocacy Project, and this is the second year her students have presented a Health and Wellness Fair for our clients. Screenings and presentations on several health-related topics were provided at the SafeHouses the morning of May 17 and at the Stamford office that afternoon. Additionally, the students will be providing screenings and assistance with medical issues to SafeHouse residents once a week throughout June.
